We are high school graduates living in the UAE. After hearing multiple accounts of road traffic accidents, we began to realise the gravity of the situation - especially the aftermath to the remaining family and society. This drove us to found the non profit organisation, Safe Road UAE, to puth forth initiatives to mitigate the issue.

Globally every year 15.9 person per 100,000 population die on the road annually. In Middle East, Africa, South Asia and South America, road accident death is one of the main causes of death in the world and middle eastern region (source: WHO, World bank).Â
UAE showed 18.1 road deaths per 100,000. Recent report shows the rate has gone down to 9.
